SeaWeek 2026

Australia’s major national public awareness campaign to focus community awareness, provide information and encourage an appreciation of the sea, this annual week-long event gives us a fantastic opportunity to promote educational issues of relevance to the marine environment.  This year's them is Caring for Planet Water -Ocean Literacy Principle 4: The ocean makes the Earth habitable.

The ocean provided and continues to provide water, oxygen and nutrients, and moderates the climate, cycles and currents needed for life to exist on Earth. Investigate how the ocean supports life on Earth through climate regulation, currents and cycles, oxygen production, biodiversity, resources and essential ecosystem services.
